We are glad to welcome the fantastic Valerie Keller as our guest to KASKI 2017. This former founder and CEO of Veritas has become widely recognized for her expertise in leadership, purpose-driven transformation and innovation. Currently, as Executive Director of EY Global Markets she works with the C-suite of top-tier multinationals and focuses on advancing purposeful business through the EY Beacon Institute. On October 31st at KASKI 2017, Valerie will be challenging the Finnish business leaders to find their corporate purpose and tell them why scaleups should always aim to generate purpose-driven growth.
Purpose is a guide and constant measure helping organizations navigate disruption.
EY Beacon Institute has found that in fact corporate purpose, not profit, is business leaders’ key to success at the time of turbulent economy. Their report found that 97% of companies that deeply integrate a broader sense of purpose into their operations report a good or great deal of incremental value from doing so. Some of the main benefits for respondents included greater customer loyalty, preserved brand value and reputation, staff retention, and production innovation.
As a former chief executive officer, Valerie’s has established healthcare facilities, housing developments and social enterprises. Valerie was also founder of Veritas and two U.S. coalitions focused on housing and healthcare system reform. She has advised U.S. Congressional Committees and facilitated public-private partnerships across businesses, government agencies and non-governmental organizations.
All the disruption geopolitically, economically and technologically is a catalyst for a new evolution in business. Those most able to thrive in this new world are focused on their impact on the humans they touch – the customers, the employees and the wider society.
The list of Valerie’s recognition is long, but just so you get the idea: she has been selected by the World Economic Forum as a Young Global Leader and she is a recipient of the JP Morgan Chase 20 Under 40 and Women Who Mean Business awards. She serves on the Harvard Kennedy School Women Leadership Board, is on the advisory boards of Global Thinkers Forum, Womanity US and is a global ambassador for Same Sky. She is also an Associate Fellow of the University of Oxford Saïd Business School, where she designs and leads executive education programs.
As a recognised expert, Valerie has also provided expert testimony for U.S. Senate and House Committees and keynotes on change leadership, aligning profits and purpose, cross-sector collaborations and diversity driving innovation.
Since Kasvuryhmä has worked with corporate purpose already quite some time, it is an absolute pleasure to have Valerie bring some expert insights to the matter. Welcome!
